Finding Treasures: Venezuelan Embroidered Mayan Story Tapestry

I found this little treasure at a yard sale without a tag. I wasn’t sure what it was, but I knew I liked it. I love the bright colors, which is what attracted me to it to begin with. The man at the sale said it was from Venezuela. The price? $2.

I’d love if someone can tell me what the symbols mean. Does this tell a story, or are the symbols random?

The Cutest Purple Witch

I think it’s important to support the arts, especially buying directly from the artist. I always seem to find other things I like while I’m searching for something completely different. This time I found this little handmade one-of-a-kind polymer clay witch. I knew I just had to have her. She holds her bottle of potion and has a little frog and white pumpkins by her side.
